Camden Village Council voted at their June 20th meeting to lower the basic sewer charges by 19% for all residents (a decrease of $3.50). Residents should see the decrease on their bills after the resolution received final approval by Council (resolutions require three readings at Council meetings before final approval).
At that same meeting, Ashley Brandenburg, representing Camden Comeback (a local nonprofit organization), requested permission from Council to Camden parks (Veterans and Bicentennial) to assist in planning a weekly Farmers Market they are planning. Council unanimously approved the request. Beginning Thursday, June 10, a Farmers Market will be held weekly on Thursdays through October. Camden Comeback will assist in the village in actively recruiting vendors for the event and all items will be fresh grown, prepared or created locally.
