Camden was established in 1818 and we celebrated our 200th birthday in 2018! The Camden Bicentennial Planning Committee planned lots of activities for the monumental event and our community enjoyed an entire year of celebration!
Here is information about the wonderful, fun events we held to celebrate our 200th!

Camden Business Appreciation Day
Saturday, April 21, 2018
11:00 am - 2:00 p.m.
We want folks to Shop Local and support Camden businesses! So we sponsored our first Camden Business Appreciation Day. Many of Camden's fine merchants and businesses were ope and welcoming with refreshments, specials, deals, discounts and door prizes!
Many had historical information, stories, and photos on display about their businesses and/or the buildings where they are located. Other historical info about Camden's buildings and businesses was displayed in the Town Hall, the Camden Archives were open (and very busy!) and we had lots of Bicentennial merchandise for sale.
It was a fun day, with beautiful spring weather, and some of the best businesses in the county participating Thank you everyone!!

- Haunted Camden Tours - participants learned about the creepy, disturbing and mysterious stories and events in Camden's history. Tours were available during the fall of 2017 and 2018.
- Camden Boo-centennial - Some committee members dressed for a frightfully good time (and treats) on Beggars Night, Tuesday, October 30 2018.
- Community Worship Service - Working with our local church congregations, we planned a Community Worship Service on Sunday, November 18th. This one was special.
- Holiday Lighting/decoration contests for homes and businesses during the December holidays.
- Snowman Decorating Contest - during the first real snow fall! So fun.
