Building on the momentum created and support received during Camden’s Bicentennial Celebration in 2018, several members of that planning committee and a group of additional Camden citizens and business owners formed a 501(3)c non-profit organization – Camden Comeback.
Although the group is not a committee of Camden Village Council nor appointed by the village, we very much appreciate their efforts to support the people and businesses of Camden. According to their website, the group’s goals include:
- Share information about Camden, Ohio and its happening with our neighbors and visitors.
- Organize and assist with activities, events and efforts that create a sense of community for Camden’s citizens
- Assist, support and encourage existing…and new…businesses and organizations that further Camden’s economic development and vitality
- Promote and celebrate our great community
- Organizes and coordinates the annual Black Walnut Festival
Camden Comeback spearheaded the Military Flag project and just recentlyssisted the Camden Archives in their efforts to digitize Camden newspapers from 1870 – 1989 including all issues of The Camden Herald, Camden Gazette, Camden Weekly Gazette and the Preble County News. Lots of fun and interesting Camden History right at your fingertips. You can find the link here.
The group also have a Camden Comeback Facebook Page where they share updates on issues of concern to Camden’s citizens but also share fun historical Camden photos and stories, Please visit their website or Facebook page for more information.
